Russia has the right to supply weapons to Iran.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that this was stated by Yevgeny Primakov, head of “Rossotrudnichestvo”.
According to him, there is an agreement on strategic partnership between Russia and Iran. Primakov recalled during his speech via video link at a round table held at the "Russian House" in Yerevan that although military cooperation is not directly stipulated in the document, considering that the US supplies weapons to Ukraine, Moscow also has the right to provide weapons to Iran.
Primakov noted that military operations carried out against Iran raise questions about the value of negotiations conducted with Washington's mediation. In his opinion, sooner or later, the effectiveness of the US's mediation capabilities in the Ukrainian settlement will also become a subject of discussion.
The head of “Rossotrudnichestvo” also called the hopes of the US and Israel to create internal instability in Iran unfounded. He stated that there is sufficient internal stability in the republic, and he personally observed this during his recent visit to Iran.
