Washington is preparing to send a third aircraft carrier group, led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush, to the Middle East.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in an announcement by the US Naval Forces Command.
The ships have completed comprehensive training, which all aircraft carrier strike groups must undergo before being authorized for larger-scale missions, and are currently preparing for deployment to the region.
The George HW Bush is equipped with two nuclear reactors, allowing the ship to operate for an almost indefinite period without refueling. It can carry over 80 aircraft and helicopters, including advanced F-35 fighters.
The aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford have already been deployed to the Middle East. The former is currently in the Arabian Sea, while the latter is in the Red Sea.
