Russia is training Iran in advanced drone tactics developed in Ukraine, and these tactics help it deliver effective strikes against US and allied targets in the Middle East.

Modern.az reports that a Western intelligence official told CNN about this.

He said that this intelligence information allows drones to effectively penetrate the air defense systems of Gulf countries.

The US had previously stated that Russia shared intelligence with Iran to select targets. The source noted that specific tactical recommendations for combating them constitute a new level of support, which is "more concerning." He did not provide details, but it is known that Russia uses Iranian-developed and modernized "Shahed" drones against Ukraine in "waves": several aircraft fly simultaneously and regularly change course to evade air defense systems.

The source also added that the West is generally "seriously concerned" about the development of the conflict in the Middle East. In particular, concerns arise regarding the Iranians mining the Strait of Hormuz, as well as their use of naval drones and even fishing boats to attack American warships, including aircraft carriers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on March 11 that "Russia has started helping the Iranian regime with drones."

Ukraine has already sent specialists with combat experience with "Shaheds" to Persian Gulf countries.

Earlier, "The Wall Street Journal," citing analysts, reported that Iran had adopted Russia's improved tactics of mass drone attacks in the war in Ukraine. They noted that this approach allows for overloading air defense systems and destroying critical infrastructure, effectively supporting a strategy of attrition.
