China actively imports goods from many countries. The country needs a large volume of product flow to protect its economy's production capacities, ensure technological development, and meet the demands of the domestic market. However, some product categories cannot be replaced by local production due to a lack of necessary equipment, natural resources, or technologies.
Modern.az reports that, according to data as of March 2026, China plays a key role in global supply chains for many states. For instance, 46.8 percent of Cambodia's total goods imports originate from China. The country primarily imports a significant portion of raw materials for its textile industry from China.
In Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, over 40 percent of imports are accounted for by trade with China. Some of the most dependent countries do not possess a developed industrial base, while others rely on Chinese-made components to sustain export-oriented sectors such as textile and electronics assembly.
