The draft text of the new Constitution in Armenia has already been prepared and will be submitted for discussion at the meeting of the board of the “Civil Contract” Party, as well as in the parliamentary faction of the same name.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by Armenian Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan at the first meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice.
The Minister stated that the draft does not envisage the rejection of the existing governance system. The document proposes changes aimed at greater decentralization of the branches of power and their balancing.
In addition, it is planned to strengthen the parliament's control mechanisms over the Prime Minister's activities.
The draft also proposes the principle of appealing cases in two instances, the written examination of court cases, and the establishment of a mechanism for appealing decisions of the Supreme Judicial Council.
It should be recalled that it has been emphasized that the Armenian Constitution will not refer to the country's Declaration of Independence.
