The Israeli Army destroyed the center used by Iran to develop anti-satellite capabilities in space
Modern.az , citing Israeli media, reports that the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement regarding this.
“The Israeli Air Force, based on precise military intelligence, destroyed a center operating in the space sector belonging to the Iranian terror regime. This center was used for the development of capabilities to strike satellites, and these capabilities are considered a threat to the satellites of the State of Israel, as well as the space assets of other countries worldwide,” the IDF statement noted.
According to the information, the targeted center was used for the development of military space programs. Within the framework of these programs, among others, the “Chamran-1” satellite, developed by the Electronics Industry of the Iranian Ministry of Defense and launched into space by the Revolutionary Guards in September 2024, was also created.
“Iran's terror regime has spent significant resources over many years on the development of warfare capabilities in space. This is assessed as part of its attempts to expand its military capabilities and undermine regional, as well as international, stability,” the statement emphasized.
