The number of employees in workplaces in Kuwait has been reduced by 70 percent, working hours have been reduced to 6 hours, and students have been transitioned to a distance learning system.

Modern.az reports, citing the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat”, that this decision was adopted within the framework of precautionary measures implemented in the country due to increasing tensions in the Gulf region.

The Kuwait Civil Service Commission announced that the work regime in government institutions would continue with only 30 percent of employees after Ramadan. At the same time, the implementation of a shift-based and remote work regime, the reduction of daily working hours by one hour to 6 hours, and the suspension of evening shift work until further notice were announced.

Kuwait's Minister of Education, Jalal Al-Tabtabai, issued instructions for the adjustment of class hours in educational institutions to suit the current conditions. He stated that if the current situation continues, teaching will proceed with a distance learning system after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
