The military strategy of the US and Israel against Iran is based on the “5 circles” model. The aim of this model is to systematically paralyze the country.

Military and strategic expert, Brigadier General Elias Hanna, told “Al Jazeera” that the US and Israel are directing the war against Iran in five directions: leaders, vital systems, infrastructure, population, and armed forces.
In his military analysis, Hanna added that American and Israeli attacks initially targeted high-ranking leaders, especially Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The operation continued with the killing of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's National Security Council. After Khamenei was killed, Larijani's role was to bridge the gap between military and political spheres and to propose measures deemed appropriate for Iran's national security.
The second direction involves targeting vital systems that support war efforts. Therefore, the Israeli army bombed Iran's strategic oil and gas plant on the Gulf coast yesterday.
Brigadier General Elias Hanna reminded that the energy sector belongs to vital systems, and therefore the strategic Asaluyeh plant was targeted. This plant produces 80% of Iran's gas for domestic use, and all military industries and supply chains rely on this plant.
Subsequently, infrastructure, including industry, ammunition facilities, supply chains, bridges, and roads, is targeted.
The fourth circle concerns the population. Here, psychological and informational influence plays a key role, rather than direct military attack. That is, people's consciousness and perceptions are manipulated with the fear of modern warfare.
The fifth circle is the targeting of Iran's armed forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), “Basij” forces, and other military structures.
The military expert states that the five targets should be struck simultaneously, not necessarily separately.
The bombardment is distributed in the southwestern region of Iran and around the capital Tehran, as well as in Isfahan and Shiraz.
After the bombardment, the results are evaluated, and then a new phase begins.
According to the military expert, the US and Israel are trying to paralyze Iran and create chaos by striking the targets called "five circles". This aligns with US President Donald Trump's previous statement that the Iranian people should take matters into their own hands.
The strategy combines not only military but also political and psychological warfare elements.
Israel and the US have been continuing the war against Iran for the 19th day, and the targeting of Iranian leaders has intensified. Tehran last announced the death of Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib yesterday - on Wednesday.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also mourned yesterday the death of Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the “Basij” militia, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tehran.
