Saeed Jalili was the opponent of Masoud Pezeshkian in the second round of the recent presidential elections.
In the elections, Masoud Pezeshkian garnered 16,384,403 votes; Saeed Jalili received 13,538,179 votes.
He also chaired Iran's nuclear negotiating team. Jalili is known as a figure with a tough stance against the West.
