Honorary Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (secular name Mykhailo Antonovych Denisenko) has passed away at the age of 97.

Modern.az reports that this was announced on Facebook by Epiphanius, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian press, Patriarch Filaret had been hospitalized in March due to a deterioration in his health.
