During talks with the American delegation led by Special Envoy John Cole, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka proposed his plan to end the war in Iran.
Modern.az reports that Alexander Lukashenka himself stated this in a statement to journalists.
"I offered them my vision for ending the war in Iran. Exactly as I see it. I do not want to state this openly. I offered them another option," he noted.
The Belarusian leader admitted that his country faces a complex diplomatic balance in the current situation. He stated that, on the one hand, Iran is considered an ally of Belarus, while on the other hand, relations with the United States and Gulf countries are also maintained.
Lukashenka emphasized that he hopes for contacts with the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman in particular, and also stated that negotiations with Saudi Arabia are ongoing.
The Belarusian leader stated that the conflict has severe consequences for all parties, and said that the main principle is the swift cessation of the war: “We have our people there and here; everyone is suffering. This war must end.”
