The Nor Uj (New Force) Party, led by Hayk Marutyan, will participate in the 2026 parliamentary elections. He himself will be a candidate for Prime Minister.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that this was stated at an event organized by the party.
During the event, the party's election program, which envisages reforms in economy, social security, education, and several other areas, was also presented.
The party also emphasizes that Armenia's development is only possible if the state is built in accordance with European standards.
“There is no alternative to Armenia's membership in the European Union. Armenia must start negotiations on joining the EU as soon as possible,” the party declared.
Hayk Marutyan was elected Mayor of Yerevan in the elections held on September 23, 2018. Marutyan led the "My Step" bloc list, which garnered over 81 percent of the votes. In December 2021, the "My Step" faction in the Yerevan City Council held a vote of no confidence against Mayor Hayk Marutyan, which resulted in his removal from office.
