Our region is experiencing the most painful days of the last century, and the events occurring are causing serious humanitarian consequences in the region.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while making a statement regarding the events occurring in the region.
Erdoğan emphasized that regardless of where they occur, all people who lose their lives belong to brotherly nations. According to him, there is no difference between the tears shed in Isfahan, Tabriz, and Tehran and the tragedies experienced in Erbil, Amman, Baghdad, Beirut, Sana'a, Doha, and Riyadh.
The Turkish leader noted that every missile launched and every armed clash resulting from the events in the region strikes a blow to overall stability, and the entire region suffers from this.
Erdoğan added that against the backdrop of long-standing tensions, religious or ethnic differences among people hold no significance.
"Against the backdrop of long-standing tensions, whether people are Shia or Sunni, as well as their national affiliation, makes no difference. He stated that Turkey will continue to stand by friendly and brotherly nations in both good and difficult times" - he emphasized.
The President also noted that steps that could deepen confrontation among the peoples of the region are unacceptable, and such approaches must be prevented.
Erdoğan finally emphasized that preserving respect for the sacred values and historical sites of the Islamic world is important, and Turkey will continue its activities in this direction.
