Silence and indifference in the face of injustices never lead to security and peace.
Modern.az reports that Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stated this while speaking at an emergency meeting of the UN Human Rights Council.
The minister noted in his speech that Iran is currently in a state of "illegal war" initiated by the US and Israel. According to him, the attacks were carried out at a time when the diplomatic process between Tehran and Washington regarding Iran's nuclear program was ongoing.
Araqchi described the attack on an elementary school in Minab, Iran, as a "war crime" and a "crime against humanity."
He stated that this attack was premeditated and carried out intentionally:
"As a result of the aforementioned attack, more than 175 students and teachers lost their lives. In the last 27 days, over 600 schools in Iran have been destroyed or damaged, and more than 1000 students and teachers have been killed or injured," the Foreign Ministry official added.
Araqchi also accused the US and Israel of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure:
"Iran is not a proponent of war, but 'will continue its defense as long as necessary'," he emphasized in conclusion.
