Modern.az reports, citing the “Financial Times” newspaper, that Abu Dhabi has informed the US and other Western countries about this decision.
It is reported that the UAE also plans to send its naval forces to the region within the framework of this initiative and is preparing to demonstrate a tougher stance regarding Iran.
The publication added that the UAE, together with Bahrain, is working on a draft resolution in the UN Security Council to grant an official mandate to this force:
"However, it is expected that the initiative will be met with opposition from Russia and China," the report noted.
