The main reason for the cessation of protests in Iran is severe repression and the use of weapons.
Modern.az reports that US President Donald Trump stated this in an interview with “Fox News” television channel.
He noted that people in the country are living in fear and the armed intervention of government forces prevents protests:
“Even if people are brave, when they see themselves being killed one by one, it is no longer possible to go out into the streets. They are shot at, and this is carried out by snipers, from the tops of buildings”.
Trump also touched upon negotiations with Iran, stating that official Tehran requested additional time:
“They asked for more time. They had requested 7 days, but I gave them 10 days”, he noted.
