Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed and will remain inaccessible to vessels associated with aggressive states and their supporters. He warned that any foreign intervention in the Strait of Hormuz would lead to serious and widespread consequences.

Modern.az reports that Masoud Pezeshkian made this statement during a phone conversation with Antonio Costa, President of the European Council.

President Pezeshkian characterized the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran as a clear violation of legal norms and international principles.

He called on European countries to abandon a negative and unconstructive approach towards Iran and instead pursue policies based on international law that promote constructive cooperation.

Reaffirming Iran's right to self-defense, Pezeshkian added that the ongoing regional instability, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz, is a direct result of hostile actions by the US and Israel.

He once again urged European countries to align their policies with international law, rather than pursuing a destructive course against Iran.

Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, in turn, expressed his concern over the geopolitical and economic consequences of the conflict. He emphasized that European countries do not support attacks against Iran and highlighted the need for peaceful resolutions to the issue.
