Adam Kadyrov is no longer considered the main successor to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Modern.az reports that the publication “Novaya Gazeta - Europe” wrote about this.
Based on videos of Ramzan Kadyrov's family members participating in Eid al-Fitr celebrations, the publication concluded that “the role of the main son and potential successor has apparently passed to Akhmat, the eldest son of the Chechen leader.”
It is reported that Akhmat is currently seen more often with his father and accompanies him to important meetings.
A source close to Kadyrov also confirmed that Adam's “status has been downgraded.”
According to the source, the reason for this is a recent road accident. It is reported that after the incident, the Chechen leader “was very scared and was forced to appeal to high-ranking officials in Moscow regarding his son,” and later, when it became known that Adam's condition was good, he “expressed his anger.”
It is not yet clear how long Adam will remain in this situation.
