The US-Iran war, which began on February 28, continues. Statements by US officials, including President Donald Trump, indicate that the war will continue for some time.
Regarding this, US leader Donald Trump gave a clear message to the media yesterday. He noted that the US would conclude the operation within 2-3 weeks, regardless of whether Iran reaches an agreement with Washington.
Iran, however, continues its resistance thanks to its missile potential.
Modern.az reports that, several sources familiar with US intelligence information have stated that the situation regarding approximately one-third of Iran's missiles is unclear. They noted that after the bombardments, they were either damaged, destroyed, or hidden in bunkers and tunnels. According to intelligence data, Iran still possesses a significant missile reserve. The US did not disclose intelligence information about how many missiles Iran might possess at the beginning of the war. Israeli military officials, however, stated that before the war began, Tehran had 2500 ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israeli territory. Currently, the number of these missiles is reported to be less than a thousand.
US President Donald Trump had stated in one of his speeches that Iran had very few missiles left.
"We say that we have destroyed 99% (of their missiles). One percent is unacceptable, because even one percent means a missile capable of hitting a billion-dollar ship," the US President stated regretfully.
However, the Israeli army believes that approximately 70% of the missile launchers located in its territory were destroyed during the war. "However, destroying the remaining 30 percent of the systems will be 'difficult'," it was noted.
It should be recalled that Israel and the US began a war against Iran on the morning of February 28, launching massive attacks on targets within the country. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and numerous high-ranking officials and security personnel were killed. After Ali Khamenei, his 56-year-old son Mojtaba Khamenei came to power.
