Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that tensions in the Middle East directly affect energy markets and the transportation of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Russia can offer the world safe and reliable transport and logistics routes.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a report by Russian media.
Putin raised this issue in his video address to the participants of the International Transport and Logistics Forum. He noted that Russian logistics routes could be beneficial for the country's partners "both economically, thanks to reduced transit times, and in terms of diversifying global transport flows".
He assured that "Russia can offer such solutions to the world and play an important role in forming a new architecture for global logistics and international trade in general".
Vladimir Putin added that Russia is ready to exchange experience and implement joint programs in the field of science and technology. The country can also train specialists "who can ensure the development of transport and logistics in the 21st century on a new technological basis".
On February 28, the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran. In response, Tehran is striking Israeli and US military facilities in the Middle East and restricting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. According to “The Wall Street Journal”, the UAE is ready to use force to open the strait. US President Donald Trump suggested that the strait could automatically open after the fighting ends.
