A plan regarding contract military service has been issued to Russia's higher education institutions
Modern.az reports that Russia's Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov announced a new task at a meeting held with rectors at the beginning of 2026.
According to the information, at least 2% of students studying at the country's universities must sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
As a result of the implementation of the mentioned plan, it is possible to attract 44,000 people to the army. If colleges are also taken into account, this figure could increase to 76,000.
It is reported that the main focus in the process is directed towards students with low academic performance.
