Iran's Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has listed the conditions Tehran deems necessary to achieve peace with the United States and Israel.
According to Modern.az, the ambassador stated in an interview with TASS that the fulfillment of these points should form the basis of any ceasefire and peace initiative.
As listed by Jalali, Iran's demands against the United States and Israel include the following:
- The definitive and complete cessation of "aggression and acts of terror";
- The provision of "objective and reliable guarantees" preventing the recurrence of aggression and war;
- Full compensation for material and moral damages;
- Respect for Iran's legal jurisdiction in the Strait of Hormuz "to protect international maritime security."
The diplomat also stated that Iran welcomes mediation efforts but links peace to the fulfillment of these obligations. He also noted that Tehran will continue to act within the framework of "the right to self-defense" until the source of the threat is eliminated, and will coordinate diplomatic efforts with strategic partners, including Russia.
Speaking about the risks of a US ground invasion, the diplomat stated that the armed forces are ready "to turn Iranian territory into a graveyard for the aggressor's forces."
"One might wonder if the aggressor is unaware of this fate, or if they failed to account for it in their calculations? The answer lies in the nature of the attack on Iran, which has fully demonstrated its naivety after more than four weeks," Jalali added.
