Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that relations with Russia are important for Armenia.
Modern.az reports that Pashinyan stated this during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
He emphasized that peace with Azerbaijan positively impacts Yerevan's relations with Moscow.
"Of course, our relations with Russia are very deep, very important for us. In my opinion, these relations are dynamically developing in the context of new realities in our region, finally establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the Armenian Prime Minister stated.
Pashinyan emphasized Putin's significant and key role in the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan: "It is clear that you personally have played and continue to play a key, very important role in the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia."
Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of ending the Karabakh movement in Armenia. He stated that peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the two countries have recognized each other's territorial integrity.
"As for Karabakh, we have discussed this repeatedly, mainly in a working format. Yes, we recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, but we only did so after the supreme leadership of the Russian Federation spoke publicly about it twice. You remember, we have talked about this many times.
We have never hidden our problems with the CSTO, because in 2022 there was a specific situation, and the CSTO mechanisms should have worked, but they did not. This, of course, led to the situation that arose in our relations with the CSTO."
Pashinyan also said that Armenia hopes to soon export goods to Russia via Azerbaijan.
He added that relations between Armenia and Russia will never be questioned. (APA)
