US President Donald Trump addressed the nation regarding the war in Iran.
Modern.az reports that, according to CNN, Trump stated that the US is ready to escalate its military response against Iran within the next two to three weeks.
"Within the next two to three weeks, we will deliver extremely harsh blows to them. We will send them back to the Stone Age. Discussions are ongoing. Regime change was not our goal. We never spoke about regime change, but regime change occurred due to the death of all their leaders. For 32 days now, we have been participating in this large and brilliant military operation against one of the most powerful countries. This country has been virtually destroyed and no longer poses a threat," Trump emphasized.
According to him, if an agreement with Iran fails, the US will deliver very severe blows to every one of their power plants. Trump added that the US has not targeted Iranian oil, despite it being "the easiest target," because this would make it difficult for them to survive.
He expressed confidence that the war with Iran is nearing its end and predicted that the conflict would continue for another two to three weeks. Trump stated that they are close to achieving their main strategic objectives and is pleased with this. He reported that the families of the 13 American servicemen who died have instructed him to finish what was started.
The President reiterated that US allies would be responsible for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and urged them to show courage in an operation to restore control over this vital waterway.
"The difficult part has already been done, so the rest will be easy, and in any case, when this conflict ends, the strait will naturally open."
He said: "We do not need Iran's oil. We do not need anything they possess, but we are there to help our allies."
