The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) offers ships safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for payment in yuan or cryptocurrency.

Modern.az reports that "Bloomberg" published this information, citing shipping industry representatives and Iranian officials.

According to "Bloomberg", the scheme works as follows: ship operators must contact an intermediary company linked to the IRGC and provide information about the ship's owner, flag, cargo, destination, crew, etc.

The Iranian side checks whether the ship is linked to Israel, the US, or other countries Tehran considers hostile. Once confirmed, negotiations begin regarding the payment amount. Payment must be made in yuan or coins.

After payment, the IRGC provides the ship with a secret code and routing instructions. During passage, the ship must raise the flag of the intermediary country that negotiated the transit through the strait, and in some cases, change its registration to that country's flag.
