Searches were conducted in the administration of the Kurakh district of Dagestan in connection with a case regarding the abuse of official powers by the deputy head of the municipality.
Modern.az reports that the Press Service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan released information on this matter.
"Within the framework of a criminal investigation into the abuse of official powers, searches were conducted in the office of the Kurakh District Administration, as well as at the residences of the members of the district's commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies and fire safety," the statement said.
According to the department, the suspect illegally signed an order to allocate funds from the reserve fund for financial assistance to a citizen who was not affected by the natural disaster. During the investigation, documents related to the work of the commission and the expenditure of funds from the district's reserve fund were seized. Previously, it was reported that payments to those affected by the emergency situation in Dagestan would begin in the coming days. Initially, one-time payments of 15,675 rubles per person will be provided.
It should be recalled that on March 28, heavy rains in Dagestan caused widespread power and water outages, floods, and transport disruptions. A state of emergency was declared in 11 municipalities, and a high alert was declared throughout the entire region.
