Among those who lost their lives as a result of the crash of an “An-26” type military transport aircraft in Russia was Lieutenant General Aleksandr Otroshchenko, commander of the Northern Fleet's mixed aviation corps, and also the former commander of the 45th Army of the Northern Fleet's Air Force and Air Defense.

Modern.az reports, citing local media, that 6 officers serving at the headquarters of the Northern Fleet were also reported killed in the crash. It is noted that they served in the military unit (v/h 45625) located in Severomorsk.

The causes of the incident are still being investigated.

It should be noted that Russia's “An-26” military transport aircraft crashed on March 31, resulting in the deaths of 29 people in total, including 23 passengers and 6 crew members.

According to preliminary information released by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the crash, contact with the “An-26” aircraft was lost on March 31, around 18:00 Moscow time, during a planned flight over the Crimean Peninsula. A search and rescue team identified the crash site. Based on information received from the scene, all persons on board had perished.
