Rufat Ismayilov, former deputy minister of internal affairs of Azerbaijani origin, has been prosecuted in Dagestan.
Modern.az reports, citing Russian media, that the Moscow court confiscated Rufat Ismayilov's property worth 533 million rubles in response to claims filed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was revealed that the total value of his assets significantly exceeded his official income (19.6 million rubles) and his wife's income (3.3 million rubles) acquired between 2010 and 2022. According to the Prosecutor's Office, Ismayilov (through affiliated entities) owns 8 land plots, 5 properties in Derbent and Makhachkala, an apartment in Moscow, and 6 foreign-made cars. In 2023, Rufat Ismayilov was accused in two bribery episodes totaling 1.3 million rubles.
His deputy Dalgat Abdulqapurov, investigator Abdul Abakarov, and two businessmen are also accused in the criminal case. Ismayilov denies the charges and states that there is insufficient evidence in the case and that he is under arrest.
It should be recalled that Rufat Ismayilov was born in 1975 in Derbent, Dagestan, into an Azerbaijani family.
