Pope XIV Leo held a phone conversation with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and called for the opening of all possible diplomatic dialogue channels to end the conflict in the Middle East.
Modern.az reports that the Press Office of the Holy See issued a statement regarding this, announcing that the conversation took place during the Easter holidays.
"During the conversation, with the aim of establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, the necessity of reopening all possible diplomatic dialogue channels to end the ongoing conflict was once again emphasized. The conversation focused on the importance of protecting civilians and promoting respect for international and humanitarian law," the statement said.
