A new technology has been introduced as an alternative to classic luggage systems for carrying bicycles.
Modern.az reports that “The Verge” has published information on this matter.
The US company "Allen Sports" has developed a bicycle carrier that attaches to the car's surface via suction cups and is monitored with "Bluetooth". This new system, named “Smart Suction Go”, secures the bicycle to the car's roof or rear using suction cups. Unlike ordinary suction cups, the system is equipped with smart pressure sensors. These sensors check the possibility of the suction cup loosening every 5 seconds and send a notification to the user's smartphone if a problem arises.
According to the company, several suction cups are used in the system, and even if one of the suction cups loosens, the others can keep the bicycle in place. The manufacturer states that users are given a few minutes to stop the car if a problem occurs. This device is primarily designed for bicycles weighing up to 15 kilograms (35 pounds) and can operate in temperatures ranging from -15°C to +60°C. The device runs on 4 AA batteries and provides approximately 6–8 hours of active use. The company also plans to use the same technology to attach cameras for photo and video shooting to cars.
The price of the new “Smart Suction Go” model is 299 dollars.
