On April 2, the US offered Iran a 48-hour ceasefire through a mediating country. Tehran, however, responded to this by increasing the intensity of its attacks.

Modern.az reports that the Fars news agency released information regarding this, citing a source.

According to the source, the offer was put forward after “serious problems arose for the US Armed Forces as a result of a miscalculation of the military potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington is negotiating with a “new, more reasonable” Iranian government to end the armed conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, however, has repeatedly denied the American leader's statements, stating that Tehran has received several proposals from the US through mediators and evaluated these proposals as “illogical” and “excessively harsh.”
