Modern.az reports that this year, Easter falls on different dates according to various denominations. Catholic and Protestant Christians will celebrate the holiday on April 5, 2026. For Orthodox Christians, Easter falls on April 12, 2026.
Easter is associated with the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, and according to Christian belief, this event is a symbol of new hope, life, and salvation for humanity. For this very reason, Easter is accepted not only as a religious holiday but also as a symbol of renewal and revival.
The preparation phase for the holiday holds special significance. The 40-day fasting period before Easter begins, which is known among believers as “Great Lent.” During this period, people observe certain restrictions both in terms of food and behavior.
