Serzh Sargsyan, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia and the country's third president, has confirmed that he will not participate in the upcoming elections.
Modern.az referring to Armenian media, reports that he stated this prior to the 18th congress of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Answering the question of which opposition forces he might support - Samvel Karapetyan or Arman Tatoyan - Sargsyan stated that this will be announced today at the next congress of the Republican Party of Armenia, held on the eve of the elections.
He also noted that the Republican Party of Armenia supports all opposition forces.
