This morning, following attacks on the territory of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, it was reported that the evacuation of plant employees had begun.
Modern.az reports that Aleksey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, made a statement regarding this.
According to him, a total of 198 people were evacuated from the area:
“According to the plan, approximately 20 minutes after the unsuccessful attack, we initiated the main evacuation phase. Buses began moving from the Bushehr plant towards the Iran–Armenia border.”
Previously, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization had announced that the Bushehr NPP had been shelled for the fourth time since the start of military operations. According to the organization's statement, on the morning of April 4, one of the shells hit the fence near the plant, resulting in the death of a security guard. Although the explosion damaged one of the auxiliary buildings, the main facilities did not suffer serious damage.
