Two US-owned “Black Hawk” helicopters were reported to have been shot down by tribes living in the mountainous regions of Iran.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in statement No. 55 of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran regarding the “True Promise – 4” operation.
In the statement, the IRGC expressed its gratitude to Iran's “brave tribes” and emphasized that the “Black Hawk” helicopters were neutralized in difficult-to-access mountainous areas.
It was noted that on the 35th day of the war, Iranian tribes demonstrated the country's power. It was reported that the Kohgiluyeh, Boyer-Ahmad, and Bakhtiari tribes, individually and without the direct involvement of the Iranian armed forces, destroyed two “Black Hawk” helicopters that had entered the country's airspace with the aim of rescuing the pilots of an F-35 aircraft shot down in difficult-to-access mountainous areas.
For information, it should be noted that Kohgiluyeh is a region located in southwestern Iran, and the majority of its population consists of Lurs. Boyer-Ahmad, on the other hand, is a large nomadic tribal union living in the same region, in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, and ethnically belongs to the Lur people. The Bakhtiaris are also one of the large nomadic tribal unions of Lur origin, mainly settled in southwestern Iran, around the Zagros Mountains.
