US Democratic Representative Yasemin Ansari (Arizona state) announced her plan to appeal to the House of Representatives with an impeachment initiative against Pentagon chief Pit Hegseth.

According to Ansari, this step may be related to Hegseth's leadership of US military operations in Iran. According to public opinion polls cited by the portal, Hegseth is considered one of the least popular members of the US administration, and the increasing costs of the conflict in the Middle East negatively affect his public image.
It is noted that, after the resignations of US Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of the Interior Kristi Noem, the Pentagon chief could become the Democrats' next political target.
Ansari, cited by Axios, stated that one of the main reasons for the impeachment initiative against Hegseth is also his “repeated violation of his oath of office and his obligations under the Constitution”.
