Last year, Anush Aghabalyan, who won the “Miss Armenia” beauty pageant, revealed in a media interview that her ancestry is from Turkey.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Anush stated she was born and raised in the village of Zakvi, Akhalkalaki district, Javakheti region of Georgia. She noted that she is currently pursuing higher education in English at Tbilisi State University.
“Since childhood, I have heard a lot from my grandparents about our roots. Our family on my father's side moved from Kampir village in Erzurum, and on my mother's side from Vel village in Ardahan,” Anush Aghabalyan noted.
“I must serve my homeland, and I see this in my activities in the modeling field – through this field, I can present Armenian culture to the world,” Aghabalyan added.
