The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araqchi, thanked Pakistani officials for the ceasefire agreement reached in the conflict with the US.
Modern.az reports, citing “Tasnim”, that Abbas Araqchi stated on behalf of the Supreme National Security Council:
“My dear brother, I express my thanks and gratitude to the esteemed Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, and the esteemed Commander of the Pakistan Army, Mr. Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their tireless efforts to end the war in the region.”
It should be recalled that Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed the US's desire to negotiate on its 15-point proposals to Iran, and Tehran's 10-point proposals to Washington. The parties agreed to a ceasefire for negotiations on this basis.
