Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested US President Donald Trump to extend the deadline for reaching an agreement with Iran by two weeks.

Modern.az reports that the Prime Minister informed about this on his X account.

"Diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily and strongly, and have the potential to yield significant results in the near future. For diplomacy to run its course, I sincerely ask President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks. Pakistan, with all sincerity, asks its Iranian brothers to open the Strait of Hormuz for the respective two-week period as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, we call on all warring parties to observe a ceasefire everywhere for two weeks to allow diplomacy to definitively end the war for the sake of long-term peace and stability in the region," Sharif wrote.
