Kamal Kharazi, head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, has passed away.

Modern.az reports that the “Fars” news agency has disseminated this information.

It was reported that the 81-year-old politician died from injuries sustained during attacks carried out by the US and Israel.

It should be recalled that on April 1, during US-Israeli attacks, Kharazi's residence in Tehran was targeted. As a result of the incident, Kamal Kharazi was seriously wounded, and his wife was killed.

It should be noted that Kamal Kharazi held important positions in the Iranian political system for many years. He served as chief advisor during the era of the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The current leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had asked all officials serving during Ali Khamenei's presidency to remain in their posts. Kharazi also served as foreign minister.
