On Saturday, April 11, the next exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine is planned.

Modern.az reports that Russian media disseminated information about this.

One day prior, Russia and Ukraine carried out the next exchange of bodies of deceased servicemen. Shamsail Saraliyev, a State Duma deputy and representative of the parliamentary coordination group on special operation issues, stated that 1000 bodies of deceased servicemen were handed over to the Ukrainian side, while the Russian side received 41 bodies.

In early April, Tatyana Moskalkova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, stated that the parties were preparing for a prisoner exchange on the eve of Easter. Although she did not disclose details, she noted that “extensive work was being carried out”.
Also, before Easter in 2025, Russia and Ukraine had carried out an exchange of prisoners of war according to the “246 for 246” formula.

On the occasion of the holiday, President Vladimir Putin declared a ceasefire with Ukraine; the ceasefire will last from April 11 at 16:00 until the end of April 12. According to the Kremlin, Russia hopes that the Ukrainian side will also reciprocate this step. President Volodymyr Zelensky, in turn, announced that Ukraine is ready to support the Easter ceasefire.
