Despite the ceasefire, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has decreased by 90 percent compared to the period before the war began.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in a report by Reuters.

Maritime tracking data shows that only 7 commercial vessels have been able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours, indicating ongoing disruptions in this strategic waterway of the world.

Although approximately 140-190 vessels normally pass through the Strait of Hormuz daily, maritime traffic in the last 24 hours has been as follows:

- 4 dry cargo vessels (carrying cargo such as grain and iron ore) have passed through the Strait.

- 3 oil tankers linked to Iran, including a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), have managed to pass.

- 2 other tankers (one carrying petroleum products, the other a very large tanker) are returning to Iran.

An oil tanker, a sanctioned gas tanker, and a dry cargo vessel have also reportedly exited the Strait.

Iran has altered transit routes to control the Strait of Hormuz, requiring vessels to obtain permits and pay fees (in cryptocurrency). So far, liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes have not been permitted to pass.

According to some reports, more than 3,000 vessels are awaiting safe passage around the Strait of Hormuz.
