High-ranking representatives from the US and Iran have arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, to stop the conflict in the Middle East.

According to the information, direct talks between the parties are expected to begin after 16:00 Baku time.
It is noted that US and Iranian representatives previously held consultations in an indirect format. The meeting in Islamabad will be held in the form of direct talks.
According to the information, the main goal of the meeting is to reduce the growing tension in the Middle East and discuss possible ways of agreement.
It should be recalled that the Iranian delegation includes Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnaser Hemmati, Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
The US delegation is led by Vice President James Davis Vance. The delegation also includes US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
