An An-26 military transport aircraft crashed in Crimea, resulting in the death of 29 people on board.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
There were 23 passengers and 6 crew members on board the aircraft.
The statement reads: "The search and rescue team has identified the crash site of the An-26 aircraft. According to information received from the scene, 6 crew members and 23 passengers on board have died".
The preliminary cause of the crash is a technical malfunction.
A source at the scene told RIA Novosti that the aircraft crashed into rocks.
A commission from the Russian Ministry of Defense is working at the crash site.
