An M-class flare has been recorded on the Sun.
Modern.az reports that this information was provided by the Russian Institute of Applied Geophysics.
"On April 9, at 11:47 Moscow time (12:47 Baku time), an M1.0 flare was recorded in the X-ray range," the statement said.
It should be noted that solar flares are divided into five classes based on the power of X-ray radiation: A, B, C, M, and X. The minimum A0.0 class corresponds to a radiation power of 10 nW per square meter in Earth's orbit. The power increases tenfold when moving to the next stage. Flares are usually accompanied by emissions of solar plasma, whose clouds can reach Earth and cause magnetic storms. (TASS)
