“Chelsea” has been penalized for violating financial rules during the tenure of its former owner, Roman Abramovich.

Modern.az reports that, according to “Sky Sports”, an independent commission has fined the London club 10.75 million pounds sterling for inaccuracies and rule violations in its financial reports between 2011 and 2018.

Within the framework of the sanctions, "Chelsea" has been prohibited from registering new players for its academy for a period of 9 months. A one-year transfer ban intended for the main team has been conditionally applied with a two-year probationary period. This means that if the club does not commit similar violations in the next two years, the transfer ban for the main team will not be enforced.

It should be noted that "Chelsea" is currently in 5th place in the Premier League standings with 48 points after 30 games.
