Today, the semi-final matches of the DÇ-2026 play-off stage have commenced.
Modern.az reports that a total of eight intense matches took place on paths A, B, C, and D leading to the World Cup.
The Turkish national team faced the Romanian national team in a decisive duel in Istanbul. The match concluded with a minimal victory for the "Crescent-Stars". The sole goal was scored by Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the 54th minute.
The other matches of the day resulted as follows:
Czech Republic - Ireland 2:2 (Penalty shootout - 4:3);
Denmark - North Macedonia 4:0;
Italy - Northern Ireland 2:0;
Poland - Albania 2:1;
Slovakia - Kosovo 3:4;
Ukraine - Sweden 1:3;
Wales - Bosnia and Herzegovina 1:1 (Penalty shootout - 2:4).
The decisive final matches, which will qualify teams for the World Championship, will be organized on March 31.
It should be recalled that a total of 48 teams will compete for the golden trophy in the magnificent DÇ-2026, which will take place this year from June 11 to July 19.
