In Baku, a $50,000 chess competition will be held

The next “Baku Open” International Chess Festival will be held, organized by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Modern.az reports that the prestigious tournament will be organized at Baku Crystal Hall from April 28 to May 6.

The festival will be held in three groups (A, B, C) consisting of 9 rounds according to the Swiss system. Within the framework of the competition, the Azerbaijan championship among veterans will also take place.

The prize fund of the “Baku Open” is 50,000 US dollars. The opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled for April 28.
