"President Ilham Aliyev, during his speech at the presentation ceremony of the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity", stated that in addition to the removal of restrictions on cargo transportation from Azerbaijan to Armenia, the export of oil products is being carried out, and trade relations are currently being expanded".
Modern.az reports that MP Vugar Bayramov said this. He stated that the new order emerging in the region has further actualized the restoration of transport, as well as economic ties, between Azerbaijan and Armenia:
"One of the important points in the relations between the two countries is the commissioning of the Zangazur corridor. Following the visit of the US Vice President to the region, work on the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP), which will cover the territory of Armenia, is expected to accelerate. The construction of TRIPP, which will be an element of the Zangazur corridor, will enable the restoration of land transport between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
The Zangazur corridor, which will have a transit potential of 15 million tons, will make a special contribution to the development of the region. The Zangazur corridor, which will become an important segment of the Middle Corridor in the near future, will not only serve to further strengthen Azerbaijan's geopolitical position but also create opportunities for increasing the revenues of the region's states. The trade turnover between continents is expected to increase by 200 billion dollars. If 10-15 percent of the cargo is transported through the Zangazur corridor, Azerbaijan will earn 3.0 billion dollars in transit revenue annually in the near future".
