In January-February of this year, Azerbaijan exported 529 tons of potatoes worth 189 thousand US dollars.
Modern.az reports, citing the State Customs Committee, that this is 136 thousand US dollars (3.5 times) more in terms of value and 351 tons (3 times) more in terms of volume compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, the revenue obtained from potato exports constituted a minor share of Azerbaijan's export revenues.
It should be noted that in January-February of this year, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with foreign countries worth 6 billion 264 million US dollars. Of the foreign trade turnover, 3 billion 665 million US dollars accounted for exports, and 2 billion 599 million US dollars for imports. In the last 1 year, exports decreased by 23.1%, and imports decreased by 37.2%.
